An employee at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has received a lot of heat from fans of K-pop group ENHYPEN.
On Monday, Feb. 6, a video posted on TikTok circulated online showing the members of the Korean pop group going through security check at NAIA Terminal 1 as they were deaprting the country.
The video showed a masked female employee doing a body-search on the members while asking them to pull down their face masks.
ENGENES, or fans of ENHYPEN, found it disrespectful and embarrassing as the employee can be seen giggling while doing her job.
On Twitter, fans expressed their disappointment, saying: "sobrang unprofessional grabe nakakahiya." They were also furious that other airport personnel are reportedly filming the artists and posting their information online.
"NAIA," "Unprofessional," and "Nakakahiya" all trended on the social networking site.
[S]unghoon's so excited to skate but guess what? they were escorted out of the venue due to some people not knowing the word 'respect' and 'social distancing' my god nakakahiya kayo," said one Twitter user.
"[N]akakahiya maging pilipino kung ganto lang gagawin niyo. proper work ethics where? professionalism where? bakit ganto mga [staff] niyo? bakit ganyan yung nagiinspect why is she smiling like that? is that how is it really supposed to be done? no right," said another.
"Jusko te, nakakahiya ginagawa mong kilig na kilig ka pa. Very unprofessional," another fan said.
"While we understand the excitement brought about by the presence of these Korean artists, we remind not only our personnel, but all airport users, that unauthorized filming at our security screening checkpoints is not allowed as a matter of policy," says DOTr.
