A symphonic or philharmonic orchestra is "large" when consisting of strings, wood winds, brass, percussion, eventually a large (concert)organ, electronics, piano, celesta, guitar, mandolin, pre recorded tape etc.

Very theatrical. Romantic style. Would be great for film music. There's a lot to be said for melody and a Key, and some diatonic chords.
