Timestretching Amen breaks on Digitakt

The video shows how to use a 2 or 4 bar loop but the procedure should work for a quantized loop of any length with some minor tweaks. The method enables pitch-shifting while retaining tempo for that sweet old-school Jungle sound. :3

I’m thinking of replacing Ableton with a digitakt by importing all my drum loops into it… but I think I’ll run out of space (64mb) and I guess I’ll run into other bumps using this hack (cuz I need timestretching)? 🤔

I had this idea some time ago. But you did it, and with very musical result.

Maybe one could use two or more audio tracks for a mix of overlapping "grains" and reduce the distortion?

This only works for me with a 175 bpm sample loop, is that correct? I tried a break that was recorded at 140 bpm and it didn't work.

Very nice! Do u always have to fill out the rest of the steps? And using the same sample? Usually i tend to have just 1 channel with the breaks, combining amens and others. So does it work if i mix and match everything in 1 channel?
