Lightweight, Portable, DIY Infrastructure That Saves You Time And Money
This off grid irrigation system (OGIS for short) can run 1 - 12 DC Solenoid Valves with down to the second irrigation intervals (depending on the irrigation controller used) - all without needing grid electricity or having to change batteries constantly! By splicing in a small solar panel assembly with a diode this system can charge itself on as little as 2 hours of sun a day. This system is built in a lockable Husky job box and is pest proof - no rodents getting in and eating your wires!
Also integrated with a rain sensor, OGIS can be programmed and left to do its job without constant monitoring from you - because you have more valuable things to do with your time. The system in this video is built for a 3/4" input hose, but could just as easily be modified to accommodate a 1" line for higher flow rates and water needs.
