I have had mine for a couple of weeks and testing it out certainly seems to be better than the GoPro. Quality of pic is great, easy to use and it feels more robust in your hand than my GoPro. I am a convert now.

Great job. Enjoyed the Review. to the point open and honest. Yi looks very promising. mine will be here and maybe it will win me over. The one thing is leak of the Hero 5 that this resembles it? Like Polaroid the Cube and Session. Gopro have not see a prototype yet would be nice to shown the photo. two weeks we will see something if not I move on....

Any ideas on what which hand-held gimbal would fit this? LanParte say they have a Yi frame for their LA3D gimbal but I'm pretty sure it's for the Yi Action model and the Yi 4K camera is a bit wider and with curved sides, so I doubt it would fit. I really want to get one of these, but I also want a gimbal. I've looked at the Feyiu FY-G4 and the Zhiyun Z1 but neither of them seems to be able to accommodate the Yi 4K. It's really frustrating!

Received mine this week and have been unable to update the firmware. It constantly reads that the SD card(SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDXC UHS-I) is unreadable.Have to constantly re-install SD card in order to capture video. I have tried all the tips to remedy the situation with no luck. Any suggestions out there?

Need help guys. Just purchased the gopro, i am not so happy with it after seeing this Yi 4k.

1. I tried to watch 4k video on my computer, it doesnt even open. I have PC with 16MB.
2. What software would i use to edit 4k from Yi.
3. Does this Yi have the ability to use an external rode mic?
4. I do not understand why all the images I see for the gopro or Yi have the waterproof housing on it. I am not shooting in water, I would never use the waterproof housing, what other housing is available.
