Several participants drop out of NRA convention following Texas school shooting

Some performers and Texas officials are skipping the NRA convention in Houston the wake of the mass shooting in Uvalde. However, former President Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz are both still slated to speak. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane joins Michelle Miller and Nancy Chen with more on that, as well as renewed efforts that could lead to bipartisan gun legislation.

If the Police can't handle the "active shooter" situation professionally and allow 19 kids to be murdered, why do 2nd amendment activists think that Teachers with guns could do any better?
Police train for YEARS to handle this situations, some are even veterans with combat experience who served overseas. They think that a teacher with a gun and a few hours on a gun range a week is going to react instinctively and be able to save lives?

Knife blades cannot be longer than 5.5 inches. Certain types of knives, such as switchblades, spring-loaded knives, swords, spears, and daggers are also outlawed.

Only trained military personnel should be allowed to have or use assault weapons. There’s literally no reason why an individual person would actually need one, unless it’s to do harm on others. The laws MUST CHANGE. These kids killing kids are all suffering mental illness issues. They need help!! The government needs to help it’s people obtain proper mental health treatments!! Stop killing the peoples!!

Quite interesting that when the Ex-President shows up for his speech, no guns are allowed in the premises. What is he (Trump) and the NRA afraid of? Might it be the same fear parents and children have over guns??

Are you not getting what he is saying? He stated, that 2nd amendment activist teachers having guns won't make a difference.
Like everybody keeps saying it's the guns that are the problems in the US.
It's so easy to get one... but in places like the UK, Japan, South Korea, and around the world they don’t have these everyday gun massacres.
Although they have people with the same mental problems as the US.

Extremely and I repeat EXTREMELY unpopular opinion/fact!! It is with a heavy heart that I say this, lawmakers will NEVER implement any strict change until 7 or more of their own kids are killed in one of those PREVENTABLE massacres!! To them, money is by far more significant than human lives, kids that haven't gotten a chance to live a life and the trauma of those that are wounded and witness the ordeal!! Terrible!!
