I loved the teachers’ reactions when the dragon nearly smashed Potter with its tail.
Mcgonagall shrieked, Dumbledore jumped and subconsciously put a hand on his chest, and even Snape flinched.
Also, Fred and George yelling with delight when the dragon destroyed the teachers’ tent and showered Severus Snape with bits of cloth and glass. 😂

It's a lot different in the book. The dragon only sits and protects the eggs and when it stands up Harry flies below it and grabs the egg

Deviation from the book aside, many people miss in this scene that it features a major, beloved character: the castle! It is so fantastically blown out of proportion here (the tower might as well be a skyscraper), that it is always a pleasure to rewatch and imagine a castle like that could actually exist.

Lot of people want to know why book readers are irked by the scene
1. What made the scene for me in the books was that everyone wrote Harry off leading up to the task, but he was the fastest to the egg.
2. The scene should have been about Harry showing his agility in a tight space to get the Egg from beneath the dragon.
2. The dragon isn't protecting the egg like it's supposed to?
3. The dragon literally broke her chains and destroyed a stand, but nobody's panicking? I mean, lol?

Harry waiting to begin his task whilst Barty Crouch/Dumbledore (genuinely not sure who is talking) is announcing that all the previous contenders have successfully completed theirs is the most nervous and apprehensive I've ever felt for anyone in a piece of fiction. It's really well done.
