For the warrior types, embracing is better than defensive because as you uncover those layers, everyone else avoids. You learn what might have led to them and how everyone responded to them. , you'll learn more about your own culture and about many heroes only a select few know about. Perspective about everything becomes richer.

Thank you for introducing me to both Julia and her book. I will definitely be adding this to my ever-growing stack of books on my nightstand! It sounds like this book is sort of in a similar vein to the essential classic "How to Read a Book" by Mortimer Adler and Charles Van Doren, which I'm sure many of us here on the channel were recommended to read in grad school.

I am definitely a scout these days...but i did spend quite a long time a soldier as well. Being an inquisitive sort or person, i constantly ask questions about everything...even the most outlandish theories. Thankfully, the evidence always brings me home. I hope Ms Galef speaks on your channel sometime.
