Posing can be fun, it's pretty easy to learn, and the best part is once your subjects realize that you know how to make them look amazing, they'll be begging you to keep photographing them.

When it comes to posing a female, there are a few simple tricks that you can learn that will flatter everyone in front of your lens. Enjoy!

As an older (and somewhat overweight!) Woman, I’d love to see another tutorial for older women just posing in a group of other family members... I think I always look overly bland, but try to remember to smile with my mouth but also with my eyes. Any tips would be appreciated!

Ah! I love the psychology in his methods! Photography is an art and art isn't all haphazard and "in the eyes of the beholder" like some hope for the sake of simplicity. Creating a magical or successful image is more like effectively marketing a product to an audience. Projecting a particular image, mood, idea or trying to evoke a certain emotion usually isn't just about photographing a beautiful subject. It's finding what precisely is beautiful about that subject and bringing it into the best light (literally and figuratively). Even if you're taking a senior portrait, your hope should be, the young person sees something wonderful of themselves in the photos, that they've been blind to.... that they have more self-love and confidence after the shoot. Photography is more than pretty pictures. If it doesn't challenge your mind and get you excited to mentally stretch to elevate your image and subject, it isn't art. Love this!

As an artist who found your stuff thanks to the algorithm, thanks. This stuff is great for illustration. I will be studying and likely re-watching taking notes . I feel this will also be helpful for my animation and graphic novels too! Lets all learn from each other. I can pose for my own photo reference and or use these tips to help pose ref in a 3d model app. or just use some tips from imagination. I feel this will help bring my feminine and female character artwork to a new level.
