After his temporary departure from the beatles in 1968 ringo starr began to think more about what would become of his life in the following years, the split of the group was imminent and faced with the demand of projects requesting his services ringo prioritized acting above almost everything else, he made more than 10 films between 1968 and 1973, and musically, his first two solo albums, both of covers, had good reviews, but in early 1973, Starr decided that the time was right to begin his first rock solo album. And in a collaborative effort he managed to do what no one in the world could achieve in a decade, to have the four beatles on the same album, and then ringo with his album ringo, achieved his masterpiece with a little help from his friends.

After more than 50 years, this album still holds up extremely well. This is the closest that we got to an authentic Beatles reunion back in 1973. The fact that all members of the Fab Four brought their incredible talent to this masterpiece helps to make it a must-have in any music fans' library of timeless music.

Still one of my all time favorite albums. Photograph still chokes me up a bit and makes me miss George.

What a wonderful year 1973 was for those of us who were Beatles fans.
George's "Living In The Material World" album, John's "Mind Games", Paul's "Red Rose Speedway" and "Band On The Run" albums, as well as his "Live And Let Die" and "Helen Wheels" singles, while the legendary Red and Blue Beatles complilation albums were also released that year.
The "Ringo" LP was the icing on the cake. Ringo's best album featured superb contributions from every former Beatle as well as many of their great friends and esteemed colleagues.
Great days!

My Mother loved The Beatles. Photograph was one of her favorite solo tunes. At her funeral in 1983, we used "Photograph" as the centerpiece of the music she loved

After hearing Photograph for the first time, on the local radio station, almost 51 years ago, I bought this album and wore it out. I still have it, but I listen to the cd or on YouTube these days.

Ringo was the kind of man who, when he asks for help, everyone jumps to his aid. Says a lot really.
"Oh I get by, with a little help from my friends" ❤

I took Photograph as a love song to his memories of the Beatles.
I'm sure Ringo loved and so much missed the Beatles after the breakup.
Says so much about the friendship with his ex-mates.

Thank you so much for the unbiased review of this sound album by Ringo - and his Fab Friends. Peaceandlove.

I always considered "RINGO" lp a "last" Beatles album. Being a huge Beatles fan for years, I knew alot of the info in your video, nonetheless I found the it very informative and interesting! Thanks for that! I once was lucky enough to visit a huge Beatles collectors house in New Jersey in the early 70s and he showed us a promo copy of the Ringo lp with the McCartney backed track "Six O'clock" track with a big ZIG ZAG cut thru out the whole track making it impossible to play. This was because of the way McCartney and Linda "jam" out on the "I don't treat you like I should" part which wasn't made public until it came out on a bootleg. They record companies didn't want to "push" McCartney, just Ringo. Thanks for the great work.

For me, it is the best album by a Beatle solo. And it is sounds and looks like a true album, just like The Beatles album. It even has an wonderful end. And a fantastic cover . And Klaus Voorman 's drawings.

Bought this album the week it came out and I still have my original copy. As good as any other solo album by the Beatles

This album, IMHO, is the best of all The Beatles' solo efforts - complete from start to finish.

Great video! Ringo was my fav Beatle as a teenager. One of my favorite songs of his is "Whispering Trees" off Sentimental Journey__"...and everyone will know, because you told the blabbering trees...". 😹🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳 💖🙌😺

I was a Beatlemaniac in 1988 when they came out on CD, getting all 16. I went on to collect all the solo artist albums on CD (some of which weren't released until 1993). This Ringo Album is one of the best of the 100+ Beatle-related albums (along with All Things Must Pass (1970), Band on the Run (1973), and Mind Games (1973)).

I read a story about Joe Walsh's band the James Gang. The drummer said, "I was really into Buddy Rich, until I heard Ringo."

All Things Must Pass was the best solo Album.
