Elf has to be one of will ferrell's best movies outside of blades of glory. this Christmas movie is fun for the whole family. i love this movie and so will you. I recommend this movie for everyone. if you have not seen this movie then i recommend you do. until next time have a cinematastic day rating 5/5

To those who don't know, this movie was written in the early or mid 90s and the screenwriter originally wanted Jim Carrey to play Buddy. While I think it was a good idea at the time, I think Will Ferrell still managed to make this an iconic role for himself.

When my dad watched this movie for the first time after I told him Jim was supposed to play Buddy, he couldn't get it out of his head and he was trying to picture Jim throughout the movie.

Before Jim Carrey was originally selected for Buddy, it was originally meant for Chris Farley.
