Such a nice touch to reproduce the skewed layout of the JD-800 on the left hand side. Well done Roland!

7:27 I like how he explains the difference between midi synchronization and triggering by saying that synchronization is synchronization, while triggering is actually triggering...

Crucial to have real musicians demoing. Thanks for inspiring!

Wow. Back in the day the JD800 was a battleship of a synth. Now a boutique. Amazing. I really hope they do a JP8000 version

After having watched both the JD-08 and the JX-08 I'm still pretty excited about these new releases. However having both a JX-03 and JP-08 I'd like to say that usability would increase 10x by growing the size of the boxes. Why don't you go for 19" rack width with the option of adding rack ears to them? With a little bit bigger space and nobs (and 43 cm instead of 30 cm) it would be a lot easier using these boutiques. And hey, you skipped the pitch and modulation bars and upgraded to usb-c (which is good since micro-usb was never really fool proof), so I believe there would be a much bigger market for these gadgets by just increasing them in size to a boutique mark 2.

And this would open up for a full-size keybed of 2 octaves or 3 octaves for the mini toylike keybed (which are really hard to use for someone who is used to play synth or hammer-action keys) and the missing pitch bender. Improve the series by making them a little more user friendly, please!

I can’t believe how far things have come. I remember my mate back in the day saving for years for the original synth. I remember the day he fired the huge piece of kit up in his bedroom. It was like a spaceship landing.

Now it’s all able to be thrown in a backpack.

I don't have the money to get an actual jd-800, but really like the 90s video game-esque aesthetic the sound has. Amazing pads and iconic keys - not to mention the really cool distorted leads (which I'm a really big fan of). This new boutique model might just be the best solution to my problem, thanks Roland!

Was not expecting that! I always wanted to get a JD800 but they are so damn expensive nowadays... I really love those amazing pads that the JD800 can do! What would be even better is a Boutique JV1080 with the same amount of control as the JD08... That would be amazing! Cheers Roland (and David)!

I am reading that I wasn't quite the only one jokingly suggesting a JD-800 in Boutique format. Well, the cramming worked with the SH-02, but your spaceship JD-800 would be a totally different ballpark. Still, you managed to surprise me once again. Just heard this wonderful news on Talking Synths on the Syntaur channel while they were actually talking about string machines, another love of mine. So it's by chance that this news came along. And the JX-8P as well. Come on, guys. This is incredible news. But yes, please make a Boutique JP-8000/8080, like asked (begged) in 50% of the comments. All my wet dreams will come true. Bravo!

Roland you have now have the best spokesperson and and someone how makes explanations so simplified. I have Dysgraphia show not tell and with simplistic words. Remember Einstein had Dysgraphia it took time and someone with the just that right something to open the doors of imagination. I love this guy.

It is really nice to see the JD800 get so much attention. I hope that it arrives in the Fantom as well!

A very interesting thing, I think I’ll buy it after the release. I’ll be very happy if you release a boutique version of Roland JP-8000

Be nice if it had all the jd990 card expansions and the ability to load your own tones/samples.
