Pine is good for kindling. LOCUST burns hotter than most other hardwoods. Red oak smells like poop. Cherry and other fruit woods tend to have a sweeter smell to the burn. I'm gonna miss our wood heat this year. Geat info, Rob. Great vid! Y'all Take Care! God Bles! Much Love!

Great video! I used to burn around 8 cords of wood a year to heat my house. We ended up putting in a gas furnace so I don’t do much burning anymore. Love the heat but hated how dry everything was. Keep up the good work!

out this way.. instead of the special logs you buy in stores.. we use the peel of 3 potato's for first fire after cleaning. something about the potato skin burned leaves a coating that helps prevent creosote in chimney.. repeat once a month.. it's how grandpa's did it. so many different methods eh? this is a wonderful DIY Rob.. very important information here. enjoyed our visit. cheers friend x0

Just watched the kids' vlog too! That oldest grandson did such a great job narrating! We dont have a wood stove. I'm considering if I should get a kerosene heater for emergencies. I just remember hating the smell of that. Idk what other non electrical options there are. Good wood info tho. My parents have one! Have a great weekend!!🧡🍁🍂

Very good explanation about wood and using wood for heating Robert. Our property is full of oak but they are mostly healthy trees and I don't cut them down. I do get most of my hardwood from another property over by my fathers place. That property is owned by friends who live not to far from you guys in Ohio. Small world isnt it!

Kind of wish we had wood heat. But then again, I know it's a bit of work. And let's face it, I'm lazy LOL.
