Public transport is so good in Brisbane. Not only is tap to pay available on all public transport using your credit card, it's only 50 cents a trip, meaning it's super cheap to get anywhere.

So... Perth doesn't actually have Apple Pay available on the Transperth network yet. The upgrade is in progress, but is currently on hold as Swan Transit, Path Transit and Transdev are struggling to implement the new readers across the bus fleet. It will likely not be rolled out until after 01/01/2026, especially now that the one-zone cap (effectively a 50% price cut on the fare) is slated to roll out then.

The digital Myki card is way better than paying any other way. You can pay as normal but you can also buy passes that are much more cost efficient.

Blame Bob Carr for the airport train station access fee for Sydeny's 2 airport stations..

The builder for the airport line and stations went bankrupt so NSW government took over.

But Bob Carr government then sold the 2 airport stations to a private company who then charges a arm and leg to use their stations.

Well Bob Carr likely has never caught a train to the airport in Sydney. WTH for an ALP premier?

as someone who supports investing a lot in our transit systems, i support getting them using apple pay

as a transit nerd, i hope they keep allowing you to use the cards because i like to collect them
