TERA on the GT540M - Graphics and FPS Comparison

This is a video of me showing you how TERA runs on the GT540M and the Dell XPS L502X.
The game runs well, but maximum settings cannot be achieved, even with the lower resolution screen. In this video I show the framerates at both 720p and 1080p, and I also give my recommendation into the settings for this computer.

Here are my results:

At Max Settings (Preset 6):
1080p FPS: 10-20
720p FPS: 20-30

At Mid Settings (Preset 3):
1080p FPS: 20-30
720p FPS: 30-40

At Min Settings (Preset 0):
1080p FPS: 45-60
720p FPS: 60+

Bear in mind that I am running an overclock that means my 540M has more like 550M speeds. Take 5 FPS off my results for a standard clock.

Please let me know if there are any improvements I can make, and if you are interested in seeing a similar video, just based on a different game.

I have a Asus 550m. When I first started playing a few days ago, everything ran great. As of yesterday on the same settings I'm running 20-30 fps. I don't understand. Even lowering settings doesn't help any. I updated the drivers and its still running choppy. Any suggestions?

i have the same graphics card but when i try to play tera on medium i get 8-15 fps any idea what could be causing this

I'm wondering, I've got a Radeon 4200 HD graphic card on my laptop, and anyways it says I should be able to run it with all max presets. Tried so, but you don't even imagine how much I lag. I've got w8, could the OS be a problem at all?

I have Dell XPS L502X Laptop. I hook it up to my 40" HDTV via HDMI. I am getting about 20-24 FPS average, but in instances I need to turn Light Performance Dimming on so i can get about 15-20 FPS average. I have light enrichment off at ALL times. I am looking to get more FPS. I am not the most experienced with Overclocking, but I am running 510MHz (Graphics clock), 831MHz (memory clock) and 1020MHz (Processor clock). What should i set them more to get more FPS but not fry my Computer? Thanks :)

Have you checked to make sure Tera is assigned to use your dedicated graphics card? Maybe from repairing it your nVidia setting have reset.

GT540M, without lighting enrichment, is meaning less.

Hi, i would like to know if u can help me with my problem, i have an acer aspire 5755g-9639, it is an i7 2670, 8gb of ram and the graphic card is the same u have: nvidia gt540m, but when i play tera i only have 5-13 fps in medium graphics (preset 3) and i don't know why, it's the only game which i have this problem, i tried updating video drivers to 314.22 but it doesn't work. I hope u can help me, i'll be really grateful with u

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly did you do? Was it because of the problem I suggested?

There isn't an awful lot I can think of, unfortunately. Has there been an update to the game recently which may have worsened performance? Perhaps a new area of the game you are exploring is slightly more graphically intensive - try going back to your starting area. Make sure no new programs are hogging resources, and be sure that your CPU and GPU are not running too hot.Whenever I get an odd slowdown in games it's often because I haven't changed my laptops power scheme back to High performance.

Make that your game is set with the powerful card ? Go to Nvidia options and see for yourself.

I'm sorry to say, but that Graphics card is of a very low spec - this is the cause of your lag. It is an integrated card by AMD which is several years old now, and is probably accompanied with a low end processor also. Which source said you could run this game?

In answer to your question, Windows 8 should not cause you any issues - I have been playing recently using it, and as long as you have all the correct drivers it should run just the same as on Windows 7.

drivers rotos para el juego. Ayer cambié los drivers a la version 296.xx y todo de lujo. El problema con optimus es distinto, no te pilla la gráfica dedicada y eso se arregla con Nidia inspector pero hacedme caso y cambiar la versión a esa...veréis la diferencia. No mas pantallas congeladas 2 o 3 segundos nada de sufrir en Velika o en Yo tengo una 540m y se ha arreglado pero para los de 6xx no se si existen esos drivers.
