There's lots of speculation about a potential defence pact between the US and Saudi Arabia that could lead to a normalisation between Israel and the Saudis. So in this video, we'll explain this prospective deal and what it might mean for the Middle East.

Our mission is to explain news and politics in an impartial, efficient, and accessible way, balancing import and interest while fostering independent thought.

Remember that Armenia and Azerbaijan were once in the same defence pact

Didn't make them friends

Isn’t it kinda too late to be talking about convincing Israel to “wind down” its attacks on Gaza ?

I wouldn't trust MBS with nuclear assistance anymore than Iran.

06:13 That's no Strategic Alliance, that's a coalition for a huge middle eastern war.

The harder the US tries to disengage from the Middle East, the more entangled it seems to become.

I think it's super weird that you didn't speak at all about the Saudi-Iranian rapprochement which had been progressing well and while hasn't progressed much since Gaza war started, hasn't gone backwards either.

The core of the Abraham Accords was showing that the Palestinians were not the linch pin for Middle Eastern peace but, in fact, the main obstacle. To require acceptance of a two-state solution removes that and removes the whole impetus for normalization of relations with Israel.

That is completely false. Israel had bad to hostile relations with US in the 50's... History Matters made a short video about the collapse of METO. I recommend it to everyone.

I don't understand how Americans voters don't see how insane it is to get into a defense pact with Saud Arabia just to appease Israel.
Our politicians act like we're a colony of Israel and no one even blinks. It stuns me how people can keep voting these politicians back in.

If you think about it.
What would you have if you were to combine the following ingredients.
1) Egyptian Manpower.
2) Israel Technical Skills.
3) Saudi Arabian Finance.

Reminder that this will never happen unless Israel benefits 30 times from the US, whatever Saudi Arabia gets.

Saudi Arabia offers a lot to the US. The US in return offers back a lot. Israel will then ask for handouts in return or they'll veto the deal in the US Congress.

Welcome to the Middle East.
