Tennessee Whiskey - easy strum lesson in 6/8

preview_player
Показать описание
A basic lesson on Chris Stapleton's version of "Tennessee Whiskey". This is not a performance or meant to be a note-for-note transcription, but an introduction to how to play the groove of the song.

If you struggle with barre chords, skip ahead to 10:25 for a capo version.

Part 2 looks at the song's easy electric guitar intro.

You are an EXCELLENT teacher. I'm a tiny bit ashamed to say that I am only now discovering you. :(
In the thousands of hours of guitar videos I have watched, not once has anyone demonstrated the D embellishment of the A. Sweet!
Thanks so much for your lessons. I can't wait to binge-watch your channel!

You are the best teacher on YouTube I'm fifty years old and just picked up the guitar again and your just showing the best way to get a hold of the song you're teaching hope that the other people are realizing that

Five and half years ago, I started taking guitar lessons at the age of 58. I began playing a Squire acoustic that I thought sounded pretty good, at least it got me moving forward. I now have a collection of seven acoustics, 4 Gibson and 3 Martin, a Telecaster, and Ibenez ES 335 copy and a Fender acoustic/electric bass. There is an advantage to taking up an instrument when you're no longer a starving student ;-)

One thing I like about your lessons is that you count out the time. That helps a lot.

Forget the song, this lesson has helped me in areas that I was feeling defeated in and unable to do. I struggle with rhythm and this helped me a lot. Thank you!

ive been playing guitar for 22 years, and have forgotten more than i actually know. You sir, are a bonafide instructor and i have subscribed just because of your teaching style, which is straight forward and simplistic....well done.

I've listened to 4 or so beginner tutorials on this tune...a real favorite of mine...and this is absolutely the BEST. Many thanks!

You started with talk about only two chords... I was like sweet guitar is probably out of tune etc.
Then I realised I was learning about time signatures and LEARNING!! guitar was tuned and you seem to have a metronome in your foot!
Seriously surprised and seriously grateful for the non ego lesson! Thank you sir!

As always, Dave, you present the song and rhythm very logically and, in the nicest possible way, simply!

I been playing 5 months ....watched loads of tutorials and some are helpful but the way you explain the beats and how to fill them in and recognise the more sense than any other vid I just learnt loads on this vid alone! Thanks for speaking newbie

Love the way you explain the different strumming patterns. Thought I was doing something wrong but was just filling it naturally. I personally like the 456 456 fill with bass note.
