The newest chapter in the Uboom L saga. 🙈 The Uboom L release and subsequent updates have been similar to watching a train wreck in slow motion. The lack of an app adding to the ease of the process. 🙄 Anyway, thank you for all of your testing and for another great one, Alan! 👍

I just got the UboomL, came with 050, was good but decided to downgrade cos of all the talk online about how good Oluv's tuning is. Could only find the 048, mehn I must say, the best thing I ever did for my ears. It sounds crisp just as the flip6 with a little more bass and open sound. Just wow. I see that the 043, 045, 048 are basically the same soundwise. 048 is just bug fixes.

Right on Alan, the .45 firmware is the way to go. I have two of these speakers on .45 firmware and never felt a need to upgrade firmware after that especially now that they have removed the geek tuning.😉

I can hear the graphs ... as someone who listens at lower levels, sounds like I'm keeping Oluv's tuning

about app oluv says it: "For those wishing an app for the UBOOM L: there probably won't be any, as the current Earfun app is outsourced to another company and the costs would be high to include the UBOOM L as well, while current sales are not that high to allow for further investments."

Strange to renege on their marketing strategy for the speaker by dumping Oluvs tuning.
One thing I've never seen discussed is exactly what's involved in tuning a speaker. Is it just EQ or is it things like the number of volume steps and giving a different EQ for each step? People say the Uboom L sounds good at low volumes compared to "untuned" speakers.

The only reason behind considering the UBoom L was Oluv, but now when they've got rid of his tuning it's a deal breaker for many.

Hey guys I've owned a uboom l seen 2022
and every firmware version I've tested and it's sad to know certain versions were tampered with, the only version that is pure best too use is 4.3. here a changelog too my testing

0.3.9 - best hifi quality with average bass output this was a testing sample which sounds good on some units.

0.4.3 is the best and completed firmware version it's not altered

0.4.4 battery indicator audio seems too compressed compare to 4.3 which the sound stage is more opened.

0.4.5 something ain't right in that firmware the mids are taking over the vocals and in outdoor mode within the 5khz to 8khz regions are bleeding horribly.

0.4.6 bass been boosted and vocals been minimized along with the highs.

0.4.8 too boomy although the vocals and highs became neutral.

All those who been wanting a battery indicator it's not necessary seen the four led stripes has a pattern

4 = Full Battery
3 = 80%
2= 50%
1= 30%
About 10% the speaker will announce that the battery is low you have about 5 mins depending on the volume before it shuts down.

So from 4.4 to 4.8 earfun been screwing around for some reason, as for 5.0 rip uboom l you're a legend that's been killed by a Chinese Geek.

Ps: if it ain't broke don't fix it, shame on you earfun.

What are they doing to this poor little speaker? At this point it would be for the best if they just cut their losses and got rid of it, cause anybody who buys this version and doesn't know about the other firmwares - which on amazon I am guessing is 90% of the buyers, will be buying a real potato, advertised as tuned by a dual wielding geek pool master 🤦 Good one Alan, had me lauging throughout the video 👌

it's a decent speaker for low volumes, currently on 0.48, the last official Oluv's version, I've tried the 0.50 but it was too bassy with some tracks. for better sound eventually you'll need bigger speaker.

Hello Alan, I would like to know what speaker has the most balanced for all genres, has clarity, and a generous amount of bass.
