I was at this show as his photographer. RockinRio was our driver and we all came down in his van.

My old friend since we were 12 or 13. Nicest guy I knew, R.I.P Billy.

What a fabulous stroke of luck! One of Mr Perry’s songs came up on my Deezer playlist and I said, “Hold on!” Who’s this cat KILLIN’ the blues on guitar?” I was laying in the dark, restin’ my eyes, I just heard a tune by Mike Bloomfield and then one by SRV, and I was thinkin’ I should listen to the whole Super Session album, and then some licks that I haven’t heard before. Not just Blues but low down dirty Blues. And I had just listened to Stevie Ray. I will now listen to everything I can find. Find out what he played on. It doesn’t look like he’s a one-axe man. Man I am happy about finding this musician. Sadly it looks like he passed in 2007.

This is great!  Thanks for sharing.  Reminds me of seeing him at The Turning Point.

I remember him as a kind and fun co-worker and friend with big heart and curiosity of his blues heritage.. Loved everything from Ray Charles to muddy Waters to Albert Collins to Johnny Winter to Roy Buchanan to Jimi Hendrix to Mississippi John hurt… And many more.

Bill is killing it as usual, but the PIANO IS TOO LOUD, and too busy. Turn down and stop playing so much, David! You were always too loud and too busy. This is Rob, I’m playing the drums in this video
