I bought an external wireless keyboard because some of the keys had to be pressed hard to type letters....but then using that external keyboard felt like a hassle with the laptop. I just purchased a new internal replacement keyboard and will follow your disassembly instructions.

I've never felt THIS old, like I did after watching your (excellent) video. Why? Well, I haven't had a keyboard "stick" since... the 80s? So I asked my son how to get behind the keyboard to "wipe off the dust from the rubber mat" and blow out the dust from behind the keys and the printed circuit board...
Well, he looked at me with this sad "dad, you're a dinosaur, just accept it" look and texted me a link to your video.
Yes, he made his point. Message received. Computers have changed... oh, and he also reminded me to stop crying over the death of XP and to finally upgrade to something newer than W8.1 so I can stop complaining about "the Google wanting upgrades it can't get on THAT old laptop"

Now I'm trying to convince myself to finally inbox that desktop computer I bought in October 2022 and use that, instead.

My son is still face-palming and looking up nursing homes...

Again: thank you for showing me my son was right (but I'll NEVER tell him that. Maybe I keep bickering until he buys me a new machine just so I shut up 🤔😉)

I hate to ask, but what does “push down on the sides” mean when prying up the keyboard? I can’t quite see what you did there, and I’m worried I’ll snap something at this rate.
