I'm not an amputee, but I'm writing a story where the character is, and I despise having misinfo in my writing. I want to best represent the life they'd go through, so thank you for educating me on how to put on a leg :)

My mother just recently became an amputee, I appreciate the insight as I'm her caregiver as well. This info means a lot to me and the care of my mom, so I thank you greatly.

I had a school mate who have to apply prosthetic leg in secondary school. We shared the same school bus. The weather of Thailand, my homeland, is really hot and humid. So he needed to aerate his leg frequently. I had seen a lot of mediums that he applied and I would like to ask him a lot about it, not in the mean way but because I was really care of him. However, I was afraid to make him upset for this. I'm never a good speaker. Your video explains me prosthetic leg and its accessories very well. Now, I'm working for a museum and wish to bring it more accessible for everyone. Thus, I want to comprehend special needs of each target audience. Thanks so much for this video.

Thank you for this introduction of the prosthetic components game. I've been a btk amputee for 2 years and need this kind of education to help me use my new leg (I just got my 2nd leg yesterday) to its full potential. So I've subscribed and hope to receive notification on the 2nd installment (since you started 4 yrs ago I'm sure they are already out there) very soon, this is a education for amputees.

Great video. I’m a bilateral BKA of almost 8 years. I use liner liners too. Your socks are the shortest I’ve ever seen, but we are all different, what ever works. My liners are custom and very thick and I noticed your liner was quite thin. I also use a suspension sleeve and not the pin system, which never worked well for me. Good luck on your journey.

One of the main characters in the book I'm working on at the moment is a below-knee amputee. I'm not an amputee, nor do I know any amputees, much less specifically below-knee ones, so I've mostly had to rely on the internet for my research and find your videos extremely informative and helpful. I realise all amputees face different challenges and have different needs, but I feel like your videos really help me gain a fuller picture of it all. With my limited knowledge, I'm interested in learning as much as I can - equipment care, mobility issues, emotional impact, correct terminology, etc. I really love this character and want to do him justice and your videos have helped me immensely, thank you!

Hey great video! Thanks so much for posting. I am a new BK amputee and by all indicators exactly in your same position with left BK performed July20th. I know NOTHING to come and this helps. I had a fall that blew out a portion of the incision but its healing. Just a delay. I am looking at how my gait might be and all the available prosthetics available without going broke...lol. i am happy to find your videos and just wanted to thank you for your time and effort knowing we are out here in the dark. Thank so much!

Something current. Yay. My BKA was Sept 21, after 13 months of MRSA in my foot and two transmetatarsal amputations that got reinfected. Neuropathy has made it all fairly easy with the pain. I'm walking on an iWalk2.0 right now. First appointment with prostethistist is in a couple weeks. I've been seeing posts, ratchets, and suction sockets. Hoping they'll help me choose the best for my needs. I'll keep checking back. Thanks for the details.

It's been a couple of years since you made this video, hope things are going well for you. I have been thinking about having such a leg. I had foot surgery 4 years ago and I have been in constant pain and discomfort. Surgeon can figure out why but what you explained has been on my mind just to get some relief..good video, stay well!

Oct 19th 2024 my wife and I were involved in a motorcycle accident which resulted in me becoming a BTK amputee…I’m still in the early stages of recovery and pain but looking at these videos provides light at the end of the tunnel.
