I can promise you every watchmaker and watch enthousiast will enjoy this video. Watches are a work or art, but the most important thing is how the watch makes you feel. 5 years from now you'll look at this watch and it will remind you of all the great memories you've made along the way with this watch on your wrist. The fact that you've put it together yourself is already a great memory in itself.

The NH35 is a real SEIKO movement, not made by SEIKO but made with SEIKO's approval.

Got into watch repair after watching my Uncle and Youtube, and while it can be so fiddly and annoying, its super satisfying when it all comes together. I would 100% love more watch content from you!

I'm absolutely going to build one for myself, yours turned out really cool!

You know what? I didn't know you could build your own watch - and why wouldn't it be possible? I never even thought of it - thanks for making this video!

Just FYI you don't stop advancing the time when the date wheel STARTS rotating, you're supposed to stop advancing once the date wheel snaps into the next position, the date wheel starts to rotate around the 11pm position, not really a big deal, it just means that the date on your watch isn't going to snap into the proper date until about 1am but most people are asleep around that time and wouldn't be awake to notice.. just noticed you realized and fixed it😅

either way I have no doubt you will enjoy this watch, its your first build and will always hold sentimental value, beautiful build

2:25 You know little enough about building watches that I can learn something from every move you make. Right or wrong.
16:11 It's not fake. It's a watch. Made of watch parts. It's not pretending to be anything it isn't
17:00 BRAVO! I've been planning on doing what you just did. The watch part, not the film making part, you have gone a long way to giving me the confidence.
Thank you.
(Your film making, by the way, is ideal for the subject. I like your style.)

I am a clockmaker, but I greatly enjoy watching (pun intended) people building or working on watches. I would work on watches, but they are too small for me.
I implore you, KEEP GOING with these videos, I will watch and enjoy them. If you have any questions, you can find many watch and clock makers who will be happy to answer questions, myself included (I am a novice, though).

Hello Elliot!
I would call myself one of the hardcore watch enthusiast/nerds out there, and this video and your homemade watch is absolutely incredible - I bet even Rolex wouldn't mind the attention they get with the pure love and joy that shoots out from the video.

You are actually doing what all the enthusiasts want to do in their hearts, but cannot do because of the watch snobbery, this-and-thatisms, etc. Loved the video!

Elliot, I'm a mad keen watch repair enthusiast and I LOVED this! It's spreading the word and hopefully enthusing others to give it a try. Your self-effacing style really helps; who could give a guy a hard time after such honesty?

What made the video tick along perfectly was your great attitude. Loved the video from start to finish. Cheers.

I just got into watch making around a year and a half ago when my dad got me into it. One tip I have for you, either purchase a handheld 30-40x magnifier or get an eye loupe. It make hand setting significantly easier. You can see exactly how far you need to go when hand setting. Great job though on your first watch!
