Dog rescued from Lake Erie ice.

A dog who ran from her Lorain home Sunday has been reunited with her owner.

Kimberly is a lab who was spotted on Lake Erie this week 18 miles from her Lorain home, said her owner Susan Pritchard.

Five members of the Coast Guard tried to rescue a black lab that was stranded about a mile out on Lake Erie ice Thursday after an attempt by Bay Village firefighters failed.

But the Coast Guard called off the attempt because of dangerous ice conditions.

A woman even tried luring the dog by grilling hot dogs by the lakeshore, as well.

Finally, a team on an airboat went out later Friday afternoon and got the dog just after 5 p.m. Kimberly started licking Pritchard's face as soon as she saw her, making for a joyful but tearful reunion.
