Please choose carefully. The random stranger attacks need to stop - safety is very important. Also, not the current mayor.

I Iike this guy. I want the streets cleaned up and the cops to not be defunded by Stewart. Stewart is the whole cause of the slum, homelessness and violence in out once great city because Stewart took the power away from our police and frankly he doesn’t give a hoot. Good luck

No justification whatsoever for Kennedy Stewart to be re-elected as mayor for Vancouver.
He has largely proven himself to be a failure in most key municipal areas during his tenure at the helm, and never really showed the kind of leadership that a real leader needs to be able to show in order to get "sh-t" done, especially during the COVID hysteria when publicly owned parks, arena, and rec facilities were kept shut down and remained off-limits to tax-payers for a ridiculously over-extended period of time.
To that point, all Vancouver city councillors and parks and rec board members should also be replaced, including all those woke school trustees as well.
Vancouver urgently needs a bold new fresh start with completely new personnel in those elected positions.
Time to clean house.
Next.

I've never heard someone so out of touch with reality as Colleen is with housing. Sad really. Housing is one of the main causes of addiction and crime, due to costs leading to homelessness. Build more, hire more safety.

Almost all of these candidates are making a cute argument for gentrification. They stand for removing lower class people in favour of large condominiums. This will cause a transient ownership of skyscrapers and condo apartment buildings that noone can afford. None of the skyscraper owners have a connection to the communities and so they don't experience the impact caused by community displacement and changing the landscape.

Well it is now decided. Sim is now the Vancouver mayor ....16OCT22.

He has no political experience. His major platform was "hiring 100 police officers". Gee, I wonder what demographic voted for him (hint: the entire police force?) SIM has no idea what the actual situation is with the current police force. Is the Vancouver police force intelligent enough to know what to do WHEN it needs to be done? Case in point. The Vancouver police are SUPPOSED to act independently of any political interference. So WHY did the current Vancouver police ALLOW ANY TENTS TO BE SET UP ON HASTINGS STREET IN THE FIRST This had NOTHING to do with the previous mayor, KENNEDY, who was working on many "other" things ....AS HIS PRIORITY. He is NOT supposed to get involved in the policing of the city. UNFORTUNATELY, Kennedy either was not immediately aware of what was happening on Hastings street ...or he chose NOT to interfere with the Vancouver police in performing their duties. And it is not JUST Kennedy who is available to push for action. There are "Vancouver COUNCILLORS" also available to act ...but it appears no one approached the EXISTING VANCOUVER POLICE FORCE TO INSTRUCT THEM TO DO THEIR JOBS AND ACT ON THESES ILLEGAL TENTS (you simply cannot set up a tent anywhere you want to, particularly on a main public commercial street sidewalk ...no different from any residential street). WHERE WAS THE EXISTING VANCOUVER POLICE DEPARTMENT ON THIS ONE ISSUE????

When this "tent city" became a public issue, because GOSSIP SOCIAL MEDIA NEWS finally started to cover this problem ....Vancouver Police started to "politely" move in on these now HUNDREDS OF TENTS THEY NOW KNEW GOSSIP SOCIAL MEDIA NEWS WERE ON THIS SCENE. Again ....WHY DIDN'T VANCOUVER POLICE STOP THE "FIRST TENT?"

IF the Vancouver police are at fault here IS HIRING 100 MORE POLICE GOING TO MAKE ANYTHING "BETTER"??? A HUNDRED POLICE WILL COST WELL OVER $10, 000, 000 what will that do???

SIM has no knowledge of anything currently in place and why the VANCOUVER POLICE did NOTHING until there was GOSSIP SOCIAL MEDIA NEWS COVERAGE and a resulting PUBLIC OUTCRY. SIM should do NOTHING until there is a review of what is happening in Vancouver with respect to the "public safety" aspect which Sim is pushing. To simply hire 100 police would be nothing less than IRRESPONSIBLE ....and any "Vancouver councilor" who would agree with SIM without a proper legal investigation into the VANCOUVER POLICE INACTION in this one issue ...would ALSO be IRRESPONSIBLE.

The voter turnout in Vancouver was much lower than the last election ....and SIM won. This begs the question, WAS THERE A PARTICULAR DEMOGRAPHIC THAT VOTED THIS TIME??? If so, WHO WERE THEY???

Now ALL the current "plans" KENNEDY had are in question. The millions of dollars under his direction and plans ....may in fact be totally lost money a completely green new mayor comes in the thinking that he is going to change the world, sits in the chair and starts barking out commands. I HOPE THIS IS NOT ANOTHER POWER-TRIPPER NARCISSIST. It could become a complete disaster really fast.

I don't know why Vancouver keeps voting for NDP after all those years.
