September 1914. For several weeks, the fighting has been raging. In a small village in eastern France, a few kilometers from the German area, four women find themselves thrown into the heart of the horror: Marguerite (Audrey Fleurot), a Parisian prostitute as mysterious as she is flamboyant, who is suspected of being a spy; Caroline (Sofia Essaïdi), wife of Victor Dewitt, owner of a car factory, who has left for the front. She finds herself at the head of the family business, a colossal and unprecedented challenge for a woman at the beginning of the century; Agnès (Julie de Bona), Mother Superior of a convent requisitioned and transformed into a military hospital. Overwhelmed by the influx of wounded, Agnès is increasingly tormented and questions her life choices; and Suzanne (Camille Lou), a young feminist nurse on the run since an abortion gone wrong...

I'm Korean. I don't think this drama should end with season 1. It was so interesting and deep impressive story...Please season 2!!!!

This is one of the most beautifully acted and directed series I've seen. Audrey Fleurot is one of my favorite actresses, so I was excited to see her in this one. (She was brilliant in the acclaimed Parisian cop series, "Spiral, " as a defense attorney.) The visuals of "Women At War" are magnificent, but it's not an "easy" drama to take in all at once. I keep getting drawn back to it, but sometimes have to take a moment to clear my head of the horrific war scenes. They are incredibly well done, but this series does not spare us the horrors of war (specifically WWI between France and Germany). However, if you are a student of history, this feels extremely authentic, a realistic version of what that terrible war must have been like. Frankly, for me, it's a masterpiece I intend to see through to the end, with some interludes in between.

I just started 2nd episode and I’ve tested up a few times already. And I never cry watching a film. So it’s THAT film. Outstanding.

I loved it but I wish they could produce a bit more serious and historically accurate versions of these "fable-like hommages" mini-series (same with Le Bazar de la charité) with the real historical characters instead fictional characters whose lives are turned into melos. Marie Marvingt, Louise de Bettignies, Dr. Nicole Girard-Mangin, Marthe Richard, the duchess of Alençon who died heroically in the real fire of the charity bazaar etc...Probably more risky and difficult to produce but much needed.

There's another French series called The Charity Bazaar. It's the same Cast almost. The redhead, blonde and the nun stare in it. Super good also.

Just watched this on Netflix. This was such a touching series. Especially at the end, Marguerite dying to save her son. I rated this double thumbs up on Netflix.

Wonderful! Marguerite has too survive. Not only for the brilliance of her, her live for Colin. But the love for Caroline. Otherwise it builds up an ongoing sad narrative that lesbisk, bisexuell always dies. And it was to melodramatic. But I love the show and hope for a continued story with Caroline and Margurite. As well as the others.
