As I wrote in the chat, a number of these accessories are very useful for those of us who are aging. The pull down selves are particularly useful.

Installer, and builder with my not so humble opinionsin order😅.

No cabinets in corners, very expensive to accessorize.
All drawers in base cabinets, except for mixer lifts.
Cutting board inner drawer with debris hole, above pullout trashcan. Instead of paper towels, or saran etc because of garbage smell transfer.

Toekick vacuum gor a quick sweep/cleanup.

Counterdepth extra long upper in angled corner (when you violate #1), a door in the middle directly above counter became an appliance / dry ingredients appliance garage.

Closed handles so they don't catch on clothing.

Flank stove with spice rack on 1 side, cookie sheets on the other.
They can be as narrow as 5 inches.

Really enjoy your videos!

My understanding is that Brits put clothes washing machines in kitchens largely because many people live in buildings that pre-date indoor plumbing, and there either isn't a space for a separate laundry room or plumbing another room for laundry appliances is difficult and expensive, and the practice kind of stuck even for newer buildings.

I have the pan/ cutting board organizer and it’s awesome for me. I invested in the rev a shelf double trash can pull out and it’s really good too. I put pull out drawers in all of my lower cabinets. I spent the money to buy quality ones and I have no regrets so far. I am going to replace one cabinet in my kitchen completely with a large pantry cabinet. I’m debating buying a large pantry system to put in rather than individual pull out shelves. The pantry systems are very expensive, however and the individual pull out shelving is more versatile. I put a little spice organizer in one of my drawers and that was life changing. I had them in an upper cabinet on a tiered shelf and I could never see all of the spices I had and they would always fall out on me. Now I can access them and actually see what I have.

I live in a house that's 115 years old. I don't know when the kitchen was built but it is very basic with lots of deep shelves. I've outfitted them with a variety of pull out products from Lynks. They are very well made, easy to install and have held up beautifully for the 3 years that I've had them. They have made those nasty and accessible shelves into useful, functional and organized storage. I highly recommend them.

Think of adjustable cafe curtain rods to create dividers for pans, cutting boards, baking trays etc.

20:55 I have no first-hand experience with the knife blocks, but I have seen them in displays.
As I recall, though, when _America's Test Kitchen_ reviewed knife storage systems, they indicated that type works well at first, but with wear and repeated use with proprtly sharpened blades the plastic bristly things become less effective because the knives cut the bristles.

If you have a paper countertop towel holder, i like to put a thing of fake flowers in the middle so it looks like a vase.

You are the only instructor that made sense to me. Because of that, I was able to conjure the confidence and I was successful. I did it JUST AS YOU SAID 🎉

Stacked dishes can have a problem if the bottom of your dishes are not smooth, bottom of one impacts the one you stack it on. I use a rack which puts my plates vertically. Works fine for me.

I have a Rev-A-Shelf for my pots and pans and I love it. Found it just before we remolded our kitchen. I got the large one and it was the best purchase I made. Only thing I would have preferred is a large deep drawer for my pots and pans. Just didn't have the room in my small kitchen.

I always read the 2's and 3's and the best helpful reviews.. Lots of good honest information on the 3's.

Thank you for your answer. For cookware to store is drawer or roll out tray is better

Mark, I notice you appear not to be a fan of the KitchenAid mixer. I like the performance as well as the appearance of mine, unbeatable for large tasks.
When I finish my renovation it will be on display directly across the galley from my OTR.

This has been one of my favourite videos you have made, particularly because we are building a new house and your kitchen ideas are wonderful. I will for sure be installing a paper towel holder in a drawer. I agree with you. It is one of the most difficult, ugly things to figure out, if it’s left on the counter and I love your idea of putting a mat under the sink and the pull down shelves and appliance shelf if I can fit, I’ll be adding them all great job. I’m thinking of putting my microwave in a drawer. What do you think of that? I’m not getting any younger, and I’m trying to figure out the nicest safest place to put a microwave. We only use it to heat things up and melt things. but I have scared myself a few times taking hot soup out of the microwave so this kitchen I want to put it in the best place. Does anyone else in the comments have a microwave drawer? If so, what do you think?

For pans and other flat items, push to open drawers under the base cabinets are a great idea. I'm building an MDF plinth for the base cabinets so that I can have have these drawers, instead of the more common adjustable plastic legs. By the way, nowadays Bob's more likely to be your aunt, rather than uncle. 😄

The knife blocks have metal rods which should have a sharpening effect. We haven't installed it yet.

I’m concerned that the pull down unit reduces storage space. I have a small kitchen, so would prefer an attached ladder (that you seemed to like in another video) to access items in upper shelves.

35:08 6-quart KA mixer in "EMPIRE RED" as the display piece, but I use my chrome seventies-vintage Sunbeam Mixmaster for most tasks, except when a yard-sale hand mixer will do.

For my money nothing is better than a $100 metal baker's shelf that fits in the garage adjacent to my kitchen. Easy access to all baking pans, casseroles, and countertop appliances (air-fryer, deep fryer, mixer, crockpot, etc.)
