This is the very definition of "when it rains it pours."

This going to have big impact on crops, dairy and other livestock production throughout CA. Especially in the central valley and up north where most of the breadbasket is here in CA. Look for this to cause more inflation on food prices. CA is the highest crop producing state in the U.S. and 5th largest in the world.

What was abused is the terrain. Californians built homes in existing flood plains, happens all the time. People get comfortable living in flood plains. The idea is: a realator never warns home buyer and land buyers to the 100 year floods. And, because land is cleared, creeks and small rivers are rerouted, the end result is 10 times the amount a normal 100 year flood will bring. Enjoy the extra water, in time dry weather will return and realators will again sell homes and land in flood plains.

It would be nice if California could have rain more than drought and less than flooding.

Tough news for some. Great news for the entire state. Even better news for those who wait for these events because these types of floods reload gold deposits everywhere.

Lots of prospector videos coming this late spring and summer.

sad for them. Makes me thankful i am a gardener and preserve my extras. I probably could survive a while without the grocery store but i suspect many of these people can't.

Amazing how they start with a comment about how bad it is in Northern California ( which it is) and then they always Segway to Southern California …

So much for building in flood plains during the drought years. Here comes the results of climate change.

We see this so often after long periods of drought, then come the range. This is a weather event. It is happened before and will happen again.

I remember the entire country complaining about Cali droughts lol now when they get rain like the rest of us it’s a major catastrophe? Cali cut corners and when the systems they’ve pumped money into was put to test, it failed.

Gavin Newsome will rise to the challenge. He has worked miracles in California. The state is better because of him.
