I think this is an example of how even the best chess players in the world can make mistakes. Not just chess mistakes, but also errors in their analysis of the position. It happens to everyone.

Yeah, that's not a draw.
If someone finds it in time trouble, you have to do the procedure.

Anand seems to be in time off mood and you ask him a chess problem and he quickly analyzes it. I'm impressed. No wonder he's a Grand Master I guess 😂

Vishy is so humble. Nemo is lucky to have gotten a chance to play him.

I think even super GM's would struggle to find the only drawing moves in a blutz match . But give them half a hour and they will definitely find it .

No, it's not a draw, you still have to find all the best moves and draw it. That's like losing on time on move 10 and suggesting you had a theoretical draw because the computers are making a perfect calculation even though there're still many pieces on the board. You still have to find the moves. Also, Vishy is right, from a human perspective black seems to be winning, or at least having a edge (provided you are not a machine calculating literally every single variation).

It might have be a theoretical draw but in practice he probably wins that 9/10 times especially with the low time

At 1:09, after the Ruy Lopez opening was on the board, are heard the words, "we were going to be in this for a while." They say that nowadays there is one line of the Ruy Lopez opening that goes 30 or so moves into a chess game, meaning that yes, the two players can indeed still be doing Ruy Lopez "book moves" for a while - unless one of the players first decides to "step out of book", which indeed did happen.

I do not know the time control on the game that was played. If even 1 extra second is granted per move and the player's recall ability of a "book line" is swift, then a player who has the memorization and recall ability to follow a book line longer can get a meaningful time advantage, perhaps enough of a time advantage to avoid losing the game due to running out of time. 10 book moves is then 10 extra seconds, 20 book moves 20 extra seconds, and 30 book moves 30 extra seconds. As it was, time ran dangerously low on the player who first went "out of book", resulting in a loss due to running out of time, rather than getting a draw.

So gracious of Vishy to reanalyze this ending with you at World Champion site in Singapore! Tricky draw in the end but would have been difficult to find with flag hanging…. Hope you will analyze some of your most memorable games from your road to World Youth Champion at age 14 in tournament undefeated!!

Big congrats!! This is a huge accomplishment and much impressed by how you managed to get draw with a former world champion. Not many get the chance to play against much less draw with a Legend such as Vishy. 👏👏👏👏👏

After 1.E4 E5 you could even have had a win with perfect play and an engine!

I honestly think the King's Gambit opening is the most fun against any player. I ever see you playing this opening, what is the name of this opening?

Oh Nemo. You're trying too hard. Well, you have the spark. Maybe you can defeat Vishy some day if you continue to play & improve.
