It's important we don't read too much into the Paul and Barnabas split and add our own assumptions. Scripture doesn't tell us too much here so anything extra is just speculation. We must stick to what Scripture has revealed, and actually it shows us that Paul and Barnabas were both good men who simply had a disagreement. It's not up to us to choose sides and paint the other in a negative light. Often when there is a major disagreement in a church and even a splitting in relationships we mistakenly ask the question, "Which one is Barnabas?" as though Barnabas was the "bad one". Actually there is a way to see this split in a very positive light. Here it is...

Paul was too hard with his judgement of Mark, & that rejection would have been the end of Mark's missionary journey, had Barnabas not intervened. This shows that Paul too had his flaws or that he hadn't matured spiritually as much as Barnabas had. Barnabas, by nature, was an encourager. So he did not give up John Mark. The fact that Barnabas' name doesn't come up anymore suggests that he was busy investing time in John Mark, mentoring him, which didn't go waste. John Mark became useful to Paul later on in life. Paul's mention of Barnabas in 1 Cor 9:6, shows that Paul & Barnabas also reconciled later as brothers in Christ should.

Yes, very good insight on the Paul and Barnabas Split, an event between two wonderful brothers and leaders of the early church, (they were of such a caliber, that the Greeks mistook them for gods, Hermes and Zeus, see Acts 4:12). It was best for them to "agree to disagree" -- as simple as that (once again, the Bible does not hide things). Later on, Paul is reconciled with John Mark, he calls him a fellow worker (see Philemon 1:24 and Colossians 4:10). Lastly, while in prison, and prior to his death, Paul shows great esteem for John Mark (see 2 Timothy 4:11).

i believe Barnabas was done with his purpose and that was why we didn't hear about him anymore. he was a great guy. he's buried a few meters away from my house here in Cyprus.

To ERR is HUMAN & they still had fleshly desires even though they were devout men of GOD. We won’t be PERFECT until JESUS returns 👍🏽

Seems like a lot of people were against Paul so we should question all his words in my opinion. He went against everything Jesus stood for.
