It was so painful to see how you pull out the fan cables by the actual cables ( 8:16 ) . Folks don't risk it, pull it by the plastic connector.

Well done, and let me warn everyone about the cables, I once had to solder my own cable because I was a bit too coarse. They are reasonably firm but remain careful

did you have to buy that 1080ti cause you licked it so many times in stream or was that a different one? great video Ifixit is awesome

Thanks for the explanation on how to remove the shroud of the graphics card (remove screws and just pull it away but look out for cables) - it really helped me cleaning my old GTX 980 TI which resulted in almost always 10°C cooler temperatures.
I wasn't sure if I can just pull it away but after watching your video I tried it with a bit more force and it worked great.

for future reference when you replace 1 i would go ahead and replace all 3. when 1 goes bad it usually means the other 2 are on there way out.

wouldnt you need to replace the thermal paste, i once opened an old radeon card not knowing what was thermal paste and after replacing the heat sink without putting new paste on my card melted xD I also heard that once the paste has been heated if you remove the heat sink it causes air bubbles as it breaks the seal which would make the cooling worse

OMG. I had no idea the fans were hot swappable. Fixed my card in 2 F'n minutes. Thanks!

There is a difference between REPAIRING and REPLACING... change your title

Most of the time you don't need to replace the fan, just lift the sticker on top, add some oil in the fan

I am so upset on how easy this is. Been wanting to upgrade my GPU because I didn't think the fans could be saved and he worked on the model i have in the maybe there is a god

This should be called "How To 'Replace' GPU Fans"... I was looking for a legitimate repair guide.

Why would I have to go in from the back and be forced to replace the thermal paste? I could just go in and open the fans up, then replace them thanks to the splitter. That's what I think I'm going to do with my 2080Ti.

I just yanked out the broken fan and slapped an 80mm fan over the hole with double sided tape. It's not a pretty solution but sure is quick and quiet!
