Sudan, the world's last male northern white rhino, dies

The last male northern white rhino has died, leaving only two females to save the species from total extinction.
Sudan, the 'gentle giant' who lived on the Ol Pejeta conservancy in Kenya, was put down on Monday after the pain from a degenerative illness became too great. He is survived only by his daughter and granddaughter

No doubt one of the saddest episodes in the history of nature and the worst side of humanity.

If anything, it's another chapter of the unnecessary need/greed for supposed profit by poachers - at least the legacy of "Sudan" has been continued through the one offspring (a daughter) through a companion.

Long may it continue, along with government projects and programs that protect endangered species - kudos/full respect to all involved in performing such duties.

I am extremely!! upset, and devastated by this news about Sudan passing away. I pray that the scientists can somehow do something that will work, and that the a male will be born called I hope all Rhino poachers rot in hell, including ANYONE associated with Rhino Horn trade. I am very emotional right now sorry. I was born in Africa, and chose the Rhino from the Big 5 as my favourite, my Daughter chose the Lion.
