Fertility awareness #shorts

Far too many women like me were encouraged to wait to have kids.

An estimated 15% of couples globally have trouble conceiving. (UCLA Health, 2020). The World Health Organization states about 60 to 80 million couples worldwide have infertility. But these #’s are growing!

The birth rate is plummeting due to a host of fertility & health problems in later life.Because fewer twenty-somethings are having kids & more women over thirty-five are trying to have kids.

As most of you know, I’ve been going through fertility treatments the past year and IVF the past six months.We just finished our fourth cycle of egg retrieval & we have only 1 healthy embryo, but we are very grateful for him💙

We will be moving into the transfer stage next with all of our eggs in one basket. Your prayers and support during this time are welcome🙏🏽

I wanted to write this post to clarify this misinformation that generations of women have been fed.And to help pivot the fate of generations more, so that they do not have to face the same struggles.

I hope this makes an impact as I want to be a part of a cultural shift around supporting women in their fertility, reproductive health and family planning.

I just wish I had known all of this 10 years ago if not earlier.

P.S. You can prioritize a career when your kids are teens. Focus on family first. Vet for a healthy spouse & settle down into a secure marriage with a compatible partner. Work in a capacity needed to support finances (or express your passion) without having to prioritize achievement in a career that takes you off this track. We also need workforces to support women entering school and careers later in life.
