Title is misleading. He means streaming from VLC to VLC, so if you want to stream from your PC to your TV in a local network, this will not work at all. Which is kinda the reason most of us are here anyway judging by the comments.

Thank you @Britec09 you saved me so much time because your video confirmed that I was using the correct method, thus my problem wad elsewhere, not VLC. For the streaming to work on my Windows 10 the Network and Sharing streaming had to be allowed.

hey man, can you help me out here. it says your input cannot be opened, i followed all your steps. It says VLC is unable to open the check log for details.
