No such thing as too old, I'm living proof! Statements like these often become bigger blockers than the challenges of code itself when it comes to self-taught devs making it to the next level. Thanks for this Dorian!

I also started learning web development at 31 and got my first job at 32. Never too old to learn and improve!

I'm 43 and trying to get my first role now. Been teaching myself over the last year. Sure hope I don't get any ageism

I appreciate all the videos, I'm 37 and just starting to learn how to code. Current job is pretty good, but want to change careers. Keep up great videos.

I love the way that you motivate people in your videos! I'm in my last year of my 30s and this is encouraging to know that it's possible with the right determination and mindset.

Great video. I ended up getting my first job when I was 39. Definitely true that some companies show agecism.

One thing that I will add, is that you just have to set realistic expectations for how long it will take to get your first job.

And understand that the older you are the more obstacles you will face.

At least that was the case for me.

Dude your videos always give me positive vibes and energy in my self-teaching journey. Currently, I've done html and halfway through css. My goal is to get my first dev job by July 2021. Wish me luck.

I lost my job at the start of the year and with the pandemic nobody is hiring so I've been doing plumbing and electricity gigs here and there, but a month ago I decided to also start learning web development because it's something I enjoy and hopefully I can get a job doing that. I don't want to get my hopes high because ageism is a real thing, I just want to be prepared if an opportunity comes by. BTW I'm 45.

I was thinking my age of 38 was too old for coding & a coding job thanks for clearing that up.

I’m 32 and transitioning into IT.

This is where I’m now glad I had kids early, and can focus on learning more now they’re more independent.

@dorian thank you for this video. Man I’m 32 years old I just started teaching myself to code. I have so much doubt because I do feel like I’m too old to start but after watching this I truly feel I am not too old. I want to have a better future and life for myself and my kids. If anyone can give me any tips that would help me along this path I would truly appreciate it. Thanks.
