Thank you for posting this video. I am a descendant of John and Margaret and our family only recently became aware of this case. It has been fascinating to look into especially from the perspective of how the forensic evidence was completely mishandled and disregarded (where the blood splatter ended up on her night gown and the family dog apparently being drugged). But also seeing it in the context of the Woman's Suffrage Movement it explains a lot of the attitudes of the day.

Indianola Iowa here. Great video! The only thing I would add is that the neighbor who was in an insane asylum during the first trial, testified in the second trial that Margaret had attempted to hire him as a "hitman." Since his credibility would have been questioned and because of location of his property to theirs, he was also considered a suspect. Such an intriguing case to this day!
