Tax breaks for young Portuguese?

Portugal is proposing major tax breaks for young people to dissuade them from leaving the country, including foreigners.

Under the plan, people aged 18 to 35 would be fully exempt from taxes in their first year of work, with the breaks decreasing over a period of ten years.

I have no idea what the situation is like in Portugal, but if it's anything like that in Spain, which I can well imagine, then one in three young people is unemployed anyway.

While in the UK you are punished for working hard with extra taxes, but if you are lazy you are rewarded by benefits
