I am doing Vipasanna for 7 years taught by S N Goenka Ji. I have done many 10 day courses and many days of service. I will say it changed my life in a very positive way. You can always start with Vipassana, you don't need to do asanas before. It's completely up to the individual, it's not going to harm you. I do yoga, I have tried many meditation techniques. I am in the field meditation and yoga by trying various techniques for atleast 2 decades. However as a meditation practise, Vipassana is the best for me. The course is free because for those 10 days, you are like a monk, you renounce everything. All the things you use is donated by someone so you practise gratitude for that and see how your ego is at check. You can surely start Vipasanna as a first technique, you don't need all the yoga techniques. One personal experience is, you need to take care of your body, however when you do Vipasanna, you will know when and how. I can only say, to realise this you need to practise the technique. All I can say is, please don't get discouraged by this video or any other propagandas.

I did a vipassana course in Thailand. Me and a Russian girl was the only european looking. Felt strange at first but the place was amasing. We had a great experience. It completely changedvmy life. The reaction of and understanding myself and others. The best thing I have done in my life. It also helped me through difficulties.

I've sat a Vipassana course, and plan to do many more.
When I'm disciplined and consistent with my practice, I'm more balanced, less reactive, more focused, happier, less stress and anxious.

Everyone should experience this.

For some people meditation can be the opening of old wounds, causing more pain, but it's necessary for the wounds to heal. I definitely had some personal struggles after Vipassana, it's part of the process.

Bro after attending 10 days vipasana retreat I am able to sit 1 hour easily for meditation .. also, my internet usage has reduced so much ... it worked for me and I recommend it to everyone

I m 17 years old, practicing vipasanna since 1.3 year. It made me believe in myself forever. Its a key for passionate living, literally the ART OF LIVING. I can understand what you want to say, without any preparation siting long day might be difficult. But you need to know that there are various courses for beginners, for 60+, many more.. they are structured in the way to help meditator, not to harm. So for beginners- Don't worry about long sitting, they'd proper breaks, which help you to relax, save you from injuries. This practice has been going on for 2500 years and there has never been an accident. But unfortunately any accident occur, they'd perfect medication. Remember- If you are going to pray for the good of all, it is nature's responsibility to do all your good!

I delved into Jiddu Krishnamurhi's teachings for decades. Intellectually I understood everything., It was not until I took a Vipassana course that I directly experienced the teachings. I got "the observer is the observed." I am grateful for Goenke's work.

I m Practicing Vipassana as taught by Acharya Goyanka ji for last 30 years and can say with experience that there is nothing wrong in doing Vipassana by anyone. Its one of the most structured meditation technique available today. If you are a serious meditator and r in search of ultimate reality, Vipassana is one of the best options available. Be it Yoga or Vipassana, ensure it becomes your lifestyle and starts with Yama/Niryama or Shila as the foundation. All will be good....and good only. Don't get worried because of such videos....its simply amazing!

Vipassana helped me in quitting alcohol.
I use to drink almost every evening. even if I don't want I still do.
after taking a 10 day course I simply quit drinking without any problem. it has been 4 months without a drop of alcohol. I am very grateful for SN Goenka ji

I really hear what you are saying in this video. I am a regular yoga, pranayama, meditation practitioner prepared myself for vipasana. I did once in my life 10yrs ago. I was ready to go throu for 10days. I had a great experience and deeper level of meditation. However, ever since, I became hyper sensitive for everything. I became quiet parson. Minimising noise for every single actions I make which sounds perhaps grace but, not! I can no longer live like normal...Everything stimulates me. Not only the busy city or crowed people. Even in the nature, the sun light is too strong. The wind is too stimulating me, the sound of ocean waves or rain..everything stimulated me too much! Over the time, today, im isolating myself from the world. I can only live in simple way and I’m straggling to manage my family life.
To recover from here, I started to listen to my body, follow what my body wants to do… I don’t follow any one of gurus teachings.. I do practice any one of them just depending on what my body wants to do today.
Hopefully, I can go back to enjoy society and feeling joy connecting with the world again.

I've experienced a great positive change in me and my family after we did Vipassana courses. I guarantee that at 10:56 when he explained that only a very handful of people benefit from it is bizarre even if you put aside his bad math. I would say almost everyone who has completed a Vipassana course would agree that it has changed their lives for the better.

I have done Vipassana 10 day courses many times and sat into silence straight for 10 days without any preparation like yoga etc and experienced benefit beyond words. Infact Vipassana is so pure and perfect that nothing else is needed for highest benefit for it. Just follow instructions like a good sincere student. 🙏

I have done three times 10 days Vipasanna retreat and I am practicing now. It is simple and very helpful to understand one self and it helped me to live in the present moment. It calmed down my anxiety. What a peaceful experience I have that nothing can give.
