I fucking hate how easy it is to get to the harddrive and RAM but as soon as you want to clean the fucking fan you have to take the entire thing apart. Great design. Just fucking great..

I have a dv6-6b1tx which I repasted last night. Paste was so old and dry it took 5+ mins of soaking in iso to remove the thicker bits around the edges of the die. Running like a dream now... Before, even opening chrome would make it thermal throttle.

It took me over a year to get around to doing this, seeing how horrible it is to re-paste.. But very glad I did.

My DV6 is different to this one but the differences when disassembling are pretty subtle, its the same process overall. The weird parts are all the same.

I need to replace the outer case on the hp pavilion dv6 do i really have to remove everything inorder to change the outer case.

Weird, the back on mine is completely different. I need to repaste te CPU, it's always 90-100c when in use.
I'm still amazed it still works lol.
