Albania | BUTRINT - The Ancient City | UNESCO World Heritage Site

The ancient city of Butrint, today an UNESCO World Heritage Site was a Illyrian/Greek and later Roman city, mostly considered part of the region known as Epirus.

Earthquakes, floodings, the Byzantine Empire and countless other countries and babarian factions has had their attempts at affecting the Butrinti timeline and history.

Butrint was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 and it became a national park in 2000.
