In this video a DJI Mavic Pro arrives in the mail! After quickly unboxing the drone and charging the batteries we take the Mavic for the first flight! After a few nervous flight attempts and warning light scares we start to get the hang of flying the Mavic. We're trying to get used to all the modes and functions of the drone before taking it up on the mountain to film snowboarding. Hopefully the Mavic Pro will help us to capture some unique snowboard footage! Thanks for watching!

Awesome guys! Welcome to the drone world! There's plenty of tips to give ya that you'll likely pick up on your own but probably one of the most pertinent is to be careful lowering the drone straight down like at 7:20 . It can cause something called vortex ring state that can cause a crash without even bumping into anything. If you are lowering altitude just be sure to add some horizontal movement and you'll be totally fine. Excited to see what kinda shots you guys can get on the mountain. Drones are banned on most mountains here in California but I usually stick around the parking lots after the lifts are closed and you can get some great shots of the lower runs. Keep the great content coming!

Nice vid! Make sure you orient the broadside of the antennas upward toward the drone.... like this.... \ for maximum signal.
