In this hands-on demonstration, we are introducing SMCT's Autosetup.
It's a Plug & Play solution for sensorless motor control.
Simply connect a new, unknown motor to your inverter and let us do the heavy work.
For commissioning, it performs an automated parameter identification procedure and sets up all needed parameters for sensorless motor control.
After that, the drive is ready for operation in the whole working range, including standstill.

After the Autosetup is complete, we perform some testing:
- speed control at low speeds under high load
- highly dynamic position control
- acceleration with maximum dynamics

Sensorless Motor Control Technologies GmbH emerged as spin-off from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt in Germany and offers its customers comprehensive technology for high-performance sensorless control of electrical drives for the whole speed range including standstill.

It's great. No requirements for the salient polarity of the motor?

Do you have to tune the observer parameters for different motors? E.g. if you would use a much larger outrunner or a very quick and dynamic inrunner.
