A fresh trooper butts heads with a grizzled veteran in this Star Wars short. First Day was created entirely in Unreal Engine 5 as a workflow test for the upcoming AFK miniseries 'A Hole in the World'.

Believe it or not, this is similar to my first day in the army. Showed up to my unit, met my Squad Leader, got smoked for not knowing shit, was sat down and told the expectations and standards, then apologized to as they immediately stuck me on gate guard for 2 weeks. When it ended, I was smoked again for not recognizing my squad leader.

this weirdly feels like a more toned down version of red vs blue but with clone troopers just with how these guys talk to each other

the other troopers discontent and death glares were so dang good. the fact that you could make him express so much emotion through a faceless helmet really shows how good you are with characters and writing/developing them without any given backstory, sad past, or character developement prior

that sir is not only amazing writing but amazing animation, lighting, angling and hard work put in for such a short film
