Sheetak: Low Cost - Solid State Cooling

preview_player
Показать описание
Traditional Vapor Compressor Refrigerants have 10 times more global warming potential than carbon dioxide. Sheetak, with the help of ARPA-E funding, is manufacturing a low cost solid state compressor technology that could disrupt the global refrigeration and cooling market while creating high tech jobs in Austin, Texas. The same nano structured materials that will be used to replace traditional vapor compressors, can also be used to convert waste heat to electricity in systems like hybrid and electric vehicles and HVAC.

I take issue with the term "cooling engine" because it is an oxymoron and should never be used, the correct term is "heat pump".

How is this different from a thermoelectric cooler?

Technology is not new. Its peltier effect. I'm surprised to hear they managed to have the same efficiency as compressor based systems. I want to see data. This was 8 years ago BTW.

I can't tell that you guys aren't con-men. I don't trust you at all. I think you are trying to take money from gullible people to feed your own families.
