Coming from a Spanish speaker, you don’t actually need to say “yo” as “Como” already means ‘I eat’, so you’re basically saying it twice. Nobody will care if you’re new to the language but it’s a tiny mistake lots of people get into the habit of

For whatever reason — I'm guessing it's just because I didn't expect a beginner to conjugate correctly — I heard "yo como manzanas" and instead of actually understanding what she was saying (I eat apples), I thought she was trying to say "yo soy como manzanas" (I am similar to apples), and that didn't make sense but sounded exactly like something Jaiden might say.
