I love the residential area footage at the beginning of this video. It looks very interesting. Glad the weather was nice in that part of North Carolina. I have been enjoying nice weather in my family's backyard lately.

Also, the Socket 7 computer frame looks very interesting since it does look like something from the early 2000s. I have never seen headphone and microphone jacks and USB ports on one side of a desktop computer frame.

That intro is so funny! 😆 Still a great way to enjoy a beautiful day.

Nice content. Keep up the good job. Nice build too. Greetings from Steven from the Netherlands

You ought to watch some of Phil's videos on the Pentium MMX cpus. You can use Setmul in DOS to change the cpu speed by disabling different settings that the MMX cpus have built in. You can really dial in the speeds with these chips. Probably the best overall Socket 7 (not SS7) processor. Really good performance, but also really flexible if you can dial in the speeds correctly.

Tip for those style CPU clamps - couldn't see this one clearly, but usually they had a piece sticking straight up where it's bent. If you use a nut driver, or a socket on an extension if you don't have one, you can press it down with complete control, never slip off.

Congrats getting your system up. I still have a few Pentium1 systems around, one of them an MMX. I used to stretch the heck out of using Windows 95B & 98SE, & do still have a few PC's running those operating systems.

Nice video! Here is a tip: try applying heatsink clips with a (round) hex driver. I found that if this hits the motherboard the likelihood of damage is far lower. :D

Some pins on that video card are almost touching. It would be a good idea to bend them straight, but I guess realistically there isn't anything that's going to make them touch.

Wasn't expecting this type of video. I'll be honest, Do more computer builds :D

I would not use that TigerPro Power Supply that came with the case on other retro builds if I were you. If a power supply like that TigerPro one is very light, that means it is not a well built power supply.

Hi, thanks for the video. Did you try install chipset drivers for windows to see if that fixes issues you have there?

At least you don’t have to deal with punch out blanks… have cut myself on those sharp SOABs.

I think you put the cooler on backwards.

you probably wont believe this but I am currently using the EXACT case in this video it used to belong to some church according to the hdd that was in it

Cool computer! The case might not be the most era-appropriate but i think it looks great nonetheless.

That said, i'm pretty sure the 3, 5 drives should be slightly more forward as to fit with the front of the case better. Though i don't know if that's possible.

What is the brand of that box?? That almost looks like my first PC box.

interesting motherboard form-factor. not quite ATX but it has five expansion slots.

I can see how this board could be a little too new, I could see the integrated graphics and audio being a problem. Not having the older ram kind of stops you from having a low amount of ram installed. You should be able to put a regular socket 7 cpu on there. I had an amd k6-2 as a kid, and a pentium 233 mmx is faster a lot of the time even though the k6-2 can pull ahead sometimes. Cheap computer stores exaggerated performance on those IMHO. I can see why some motherboards set your CPU slower to start with, probably a better choice than having it start higher and not working! I've been wondering the last few years what exactly would be the noteworthy software you would be running in win 95 or 3.1, when windows 98 should be able to do most of it. You have DOS.

Use pointy nose pliers to get the fan off no scratching or slipping saying ok save you bricking your motherboard

i just build myself a MMX machine too
