Inside Drake's US$185 million private jet 'Air Drake'

This weekend rapper Drake took delivery of his new private jet – a modified Boeing 767 cargo plane – that he’s dubbed ‘Air Drake’.

The rapper took to Instagram to give his fans a tour of the new private plane while boasting that it was 100-per cent his, “no rental, no timeshare, no co-owners”. According to recent estimates, a second-hand Boeing 767 cost around US$185 million (and that’s not counting re-fitting it).

The exterior of the plane features the OVO owl symbol as well as the monicker ‘Air Drake’. OVO stands for Drake’s company – October’s Very Own – and for his record label – OVO Sound.

As a pilot I would like give a few pointers here... First of all it's possible that he owns the plane courtesy of cargo jet and that's why they still have the logo inscripted on it. An old used B 767-200 is isn't 186 mill but something far less than that.. Furthermore I have taken the liberty of scrutinising on the registration and I can tell you for a fact that it still belongs to Cargo jet/Elan Express.
The interior may have costed something less than a million or slightly above a million dollars to remodel it. If you ask me there must be some serious agreement played down between cargo jet and Drake that was penned down and signed for them to give him the plane. This model was bound to be retired in 2 or three years and therefore it is very possible to remodel it and have it ran less flight hours as a private plane which would give it approximately another 5 to 6 years before it goes to the graveyard. My take, it is a good sweet deal considering that cargo jet would still do maintenance and even storage.

A logistic firm gifted it to him in return he has to slap their branding on the plane, it is a marketing move by the logistic firm, he did not pay for it, he may have spent from his own pockets to customize it though as it was used for cargo before it was gifted to drake
