Something about Joshua and Margret is that they treat Finn as if he was just another child of theirs. I genuinely like how it’s not treated like a big deal and that’s something that I can appreciate a lot. I really like how Adventure Time dealt with non-traditional families. They handled it well by showing that love and acceptance are what define parents in the eyes of a child, and how even if you're not blood related, you can still be family.
