The Worst Areas To Buy Property In 2024

Is this a fair list? Would you add/remove any?

Whether it is due to crime rates or negative equity over the years in these areas, these are areas I have always avoided investing in.

I have had students explicitly state some of these areas are really “rough” and “not the greatest places to buy” and I have also had mentors in the past warn me about investing in some of them too.

Now other than visiting Blackpool as a child, I have no real experience about what it’s like to live in those areas, so please note this isn’t to offend anyone who lives there and enjoys it.

It’s just from an investment perspective, crime rate and looking at the demographics and house price data is a key metric and part of the research I do.

Confused with Cleveland, it doesn’t really exist anymore. Middlesbrough would have been in Cleveland but also “technically” one of the most affluent areas of the north east was also Cleveland.
