I was there some years ago and brought a Flaccianello 2007 with me. Perfect company and other guests (former CEO of Kraft, visited his daughter - she studied in Florence). One of the best wine and dine experience one could potentially have. Enjoy your trip!

Glad you mentioned Fontodi, as I have a few bottles of '19, '20, and '21.
My first ever visit to Florence, 45 years ago or so, included two memorable meals: bistecca alla Fiorentina and trippa alla Fiorentina. Happy memories. The second time I went, 25 years ago, I could barely get across the Ponte Vecchio for the crowds and, as for the Uffizzi, the queues were ridiculous. Contrasting experiences.

Waiting on my 2010 and 2012 flacc and my 2009 2010 del sorbos - thinking I might need to check in - personally I like the sorbo more than the flacc in most vintages - I have plenty of 2015-2020 of both but I will let them sleep

If you like Vin Santo… Villa Saint Anna has the most amazing Vin Santo I have ever tasted.

I don’t think I can spell that but want to save it for a later trip, what’s the name of the restaurant? 😊

This is such an epic dining experience!🔥 A carnivorous feast of Bistecca alla Fiorentina paired with an enviable selection of excellent Fontodi wines!! The wordplay on “Carpe diem” certainly “meats” the theme of this famous Tuscan restaurant. What a special treat to dine there, knowing that Dario Cecchini is perhaps the most popular butcher not only in Italy but all over the world. I still remember his appearances on Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and Netflix’s Chef’s Table.🌟 And last I heard, he’s opening a new restaurant at the Mondrian Hong Kong hotel, and I believe there’s also one in Singapore. But I would still prefer to dine in his original place in Panzano, someday when I revisit Tuscany.🙏🏻 By the way, your footages and photos are absolutely amazing, especially your picture near the window—worthy of a wine magazine cover.🌟 Thank you for making and sharing this delightful video, John! Cheers and Carne Diem!🍷
