When the guy CAN actually play a jazz piece in Bachs style you know he is beyond good.

"If Bach lived today, he would be a Jazz dude"

Some people would consider that an insult, while some would consider that a compliment

The first time I heard this sung was by an opera singer accompanied by an orchestra. Kallen Esperian in The Three Sopranos on PBS. I had no idea it was originally a jazz song. I love the Bach version, too. Thanks!

Love it! Your fingers are golden my man. Would it be possible to hear some of these tunes on Spotify? Would stream that stuff 24/7. Good stuff!

Would like to see Bach take on 'Almost like being in love' next

The “All the Things You Are” Bach piece sounds so pleasantly sophisticated.

Lucas Brar, my man, I think you did justice for Daddy Bach and for the tune aswell. Well done! Also, if it's not much to ask, I (and maybe others too) would appreciate more Bach-ifying of songs in the future... ;)

I completely agree with Lucas’s sentiment that Bach would be a Jazz dude today! Figured bass was improvisation with many of the tenets of jazz back in the baroque era.

Every time Lucas uploads a video, it is simply perfect whatever the topic.

Thanks for that :)

In grad school I had some professors who didn’t care for jazz. One teacher dismissed it as just a “bunch of 11th chords. Yet, during both the Baroque and Classical era musicians would be tested and graded on their ability to improvise over a Figured Bass. Question: isn’t that kinda like jazz? Lucas Brar never ceases to blow me away with his playing….aesthetically and technically flawless.

So many things are Bach and I often do little demos (to a much lesser standard than Lucas) Bach is the grandaddy of modern music and inspiration to so much pop music, my way, life.on mars, white shade of pale etc etc etc
